Buff-breasted Sandpiper range

The Buff-breasted Sandpiper is an upland shorebird. It prefers a habitat mostly away from water. This light-coloured sandpiper blends into its surroundings very well, such as dry mudflats and sandy areas with sparse grass. It is one of the more difficult sandpipers to find and to observe. This sandpiper migrates to South America during the winter months. It has been a migrant in Cuba.
