The Stilt Sandpiper can easily be identified by its long legs. This sandpiper is of the average size of other members of its sandpiper species. But, it is supported on noticeably long legs, which allow it to feed in deeper water rather than just along the shorelines. This sandpiper spends its winter months in the warmer tropical countries. It has been seen as a migrant in Cuba.
