White-rumped Sandpiper

The White-rumped Sandpiper is the only sandpiper seen in North America, that has an all-white rump, which can be easily seen when this bird is in flight. This is a mid-size sandpiper, known for its long primary flight feathers, its long downward curved bill and most times a hint of yellow showing at the base of it. It spends the winter months in the warmer tropical countries and has been seen as a migrant in Cuba.
